I considered building a road car to incorporate some ideas I had, but the bureaucratic problems involved in registering and insuring it seemed at the time to be not worth the hassle.
Having seen one of these many years ago when on holiday in France, I thought it would be interesting to see how practical it actually is.
Built for my daughter when she was somewhat younger than she is now, this 3 wheeled car had rack and pinion steering and a Suffolk Punch lawn mower engine.
I designed the house in the picture below. More conventional than I’d like, but resale value and planning restrictions made this an easier approach than anything radically different to the norm.
Made from a Suzuki 80 step through (free) and a couple of 10” scooter wheels (20 euro).
Suzuki LWB 4×4 with my home built trailer. Ignore wheelie bins behind it… Spare 10-litre petrol can strapped on a shelf behind the trailer mudguard.
